First thing I did was to rush home form LAX and see what my pre-ordered components looked like. Right there is a dead giveaway of what’s wrong with me! I never bothered calling anyone to let them know I’m back home.

UNfortunately, I have to wait for the others to arrive for my first build. However I might have to return some of them. Probably just my BAD AXE motherboard though… still deciding.

Building a Conroe rig is very daunting. I don’t mean the process. I’m referring to choosing components. There’s i975, i965, N570 and soon to be released N590 and ATI RD600. That’s just the chipset. Motherboard selection is another matter, so far there are 15 out already. My heart is really set on a DFI RD 600 board to go along with the C2D, problem is it only supports Xfire and not SLI,  I only use nvidia GPUs, specifically eVGA. So there lies the caveat, not to mention it won’t be out till October. My bet is around mid-November by the time they get the bugs sorted out.  Ack! This is giving me a headache. I’ll see what’s out when I’m ready to build one. Worse thing can happen is not going SLI but still able to use eVGA GPUs.

 Am not gonna go thru the RAM and GPU compatiblities. I am in no mood for a dissertation.

A few months ago my biggest shopping problems were color co-ordination, finding a perfect pair of jeans, accessorising and of course shopping for bargains. I miss those SIMPLE days. Damn it, now I feel like going shopping. But I can’t!!! I have to save $$$ for the damn components. 

So while I wait, I’ll find something to do.
